 The
Lenexa Karate Academy is the premiere karate school in the
Kansas City Metropolitan area offering professional martial arts
services and instruction to people of all ages! We strive to
provide consistent, quality martial arts instruction for every
student. With over 37 years experience, 9th degree black belt,
Hanshi Dan Kennedy leads the school with highly knowledgeable
and skilled instruction along with a staff of highly talented
black belt instructors. The Lenexa Karate Academy maintains
an attitude of excellence in all aspects of the organization -
from office procedures, to quality instruction, to a clean and
sanitary facility, we strive to make sure that every aspect of the
dojo is maintained at the highest professional standards.
Traditional Okinawan karate is the core martial art taught
at the Lenexa Karate Academy and we also offer Jujitsu,
Kobujitsu (weapons), and Cardio Kickboxing - all of
which make for a well-rounded and fit martial artist. MOST
IMPORTANTLY we emphasize techniques that work in the real world.

The Lenexa Karate Academy is
not just another after-school activity. Basketball, soccer, and
baseball are all great activities for children, but the Lenexa
Karate Academy offers personal development through a physical
discipline.
Our exciting yet disciplined classes focus a child’s attention,
thus improving his or her ability to learn. Learning builds a
sense of accomplishment. With each new accomplishment a student’s
self-confidence grows, and confidence is the first step in the
empowerment of a person’s physical and mental abilities.
Once we begin to develop a student’s self confidence, we are then
able to instill the values of respect, courtesy, honesty,
perseverance, and integrity that are the foundation of the martial
arts.
Furthermore, your child will develop perseverance, which is a
non-quitting spirit to overcome life’s obstacles. Instilling an
attitude of self assurance helps a child overcome challenges — to
succeed in the face of adversity, and to be a goal setter, and a
goal getter.
The combined physical and character foundations that the Lenexa
Karate Academy develops helps children excel in their academic
school studies, sports, and social endeavors. It ensures that they
will have confidence in themselves and the character to make the
right decisions when faced with negative peer pressure. They will
be leaders not followers.

Martial Arts is not a team sport,
the only person that you are competing with is “Yourself.”
Students come to us from age five to sixty five. Some students are
in shape, while others are over weight. Some come for self
defense, fitness, and others for fun. Each person is treated as an
equal, and is trained to the best of their own ability and
potential. A student is never compared to anyone else. At the
Lenexa Karate Academy our instructors are there to guide,
instruct, and motivate you to be the best that you can be. |
